Back in January 2010 I tried out a new song and a new approach to the music.
So here's a preview of the new EP--
this song is called Thief. It's not finished. Not completely edited. But it'll give you some idea of the new direction.
Enjoy!

Sound of Silence
Khalil Sullivan - Sound of Silence (Simon & Garfunkel)
I played this version last night at Philip Huang's awesome new show
"Guns, Sperms and Steel" which is just one of many shows featured in his excellently curated Home Theater Festival.
Check out the link for more information on the festival. And keep the support coming if you want to hear more recordings.

500 Miles
Khalil Sullivan - I Would Walk 500 Miles (by the Proclaimers)
I've always loved this song, maybe because it's so catchy. 3 simple chords. Although I've added a few just to give it a little blues flavor.

Mardy Bum

Khalil Sullivan - Mardy Bum (keyboards) [Arctic Monkeys]
Here's another cover. This time it's a keyboard rendition of the Arctic Monkey's "Mardy Bum". An interesting little song from their first album "Whatever People Say I am That's What I'm Not". I remember tracking the hype around the Monkeys when, apparently, they played a small promotional tour of the states back in...oh 2005. Word has it--they played at the Bowery Ballroom and in the mezzanine, a certain aficionado by the name of David Bowie, listened rapturously. Unfortunately, he was sitting in the band's reserved table, and they promptly asked him to leave.
This rendition was inspired by a guitar version I've been playing lately. But I don't have the capability of taking my keys out on gigs, so you'll have to be satisfied with this practice-take.
"Mardy Bum" is an interesting little song in D major from Arctic Monkey's first album. Note the ad libs.
